Senior Manager, Employee Community Engagement

About the Role

As the Miro team scales rapidly, so does the need for Mironeers to connect with each other. After almost 2 years of remote work, Mironeers are finally transitioning back to the office! We aim to bring the joy and connection back to a workspace and build an inclusive, collaborative culture of deep relationships that extend beyond the transactional.

We are looking for a senior manager who can take our global “Thriving Hubs” strategy, user engagement, creativity, and operations to the next level. With your leadership and guidance, Mironeers in each of our 11 offices will feel connected within their hub community and enjoy a consistently great experience. Hubs will have a set of standard and evolving community practices that allow Miro to scale.

Each role at Miro is based at one of our physical hubs and we look for talent who want to be part of these local, collaborative communities. Mironeers work in a hybrid model, with a 3 days a week in office culture as our baseline.

About the Team

You’ll be joining our People Culture & Learning function, leading the team of Hub Community Managers and Event Coordinators. The current team is distributed around the globe, and we need a leader who can succeed with  significant level of autonomy, balanced with close collaboration with other senior managers and related teams such as the Workplace Services team, IT, People Excellence (responsible for Policies & Benefits), and People Business Partners. In practice, all hub community programs align to:

  • Events & rituals management. Events include hub and inter-hub bonding, social events, and the annual Miro offsite. Rituals are regularly repeated activities aimed at forging a sense of belonging — include all-hands meetings, award ceremonies, welcoming newcomers, co-creating hub experiences, celebrating together and bringing Miro values to life.
  • Relationship building. Community management requires a deep insight into key hub personas, their motivations, and styles (executive sponsors, collaborators, functional teams present in hubs, culture champions, ERGs, interest groups, etc.).
  • Hub internal communications. Community Managers act as local points of contact and maintain a number of local communication channels to keep employees informed and connected.

What you’ll do

  • Set and implement a strategy for building thriving Mironeer communities
  • Hire, motivate and coach the team to ensure timely and high quality execution of the events and programs
  • Lead program delivery from scoping to design to the retrospective, working closely with learning designers and cross-functional collaborators
  • Ensure agile collaborative team methods are implemented well and review against the impact and team health
  • Oversee relationships with service providers and other third-party vendors hired to support the program objectives
  • Report on the impact of community programs

What you’ll need

  • 5+ years of Team Management experience
  • 10+ years experience in designing, running, and evolving culture-building events and rituals, demonstrating the ability to design people-centric processes and services
  • Experience in strategic building and scaling of programs and processes
  • Proven experience in community building & management
  • Relationship management and influence
  • Hands-on management experience in the end to end event planning and execution (diverse sizes and formats, online and in-person)
  • Project management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to succeed in a constantly evolving, hyper-growth environment
